PARISH PRIEST

Saint Mary's Parish is currently undertaking the due process to appoint a new Vicar. In the meantime, the Archbishop has appointed Reverend Richard Murray as Interim Parish Priest.

MORNING PRAYER

Morning Prayer times are as follows:
8.15am Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Oratory Chapel. 8.30am Wednesdays in the home of two of our parishioners The Church is open every day for private prayer and reflection.

Saturday 27th March

9.30am BREADMAKING in the Parish Hall Kitchen. We bake bread for use in the Eucharist, for taking home, for eating for lunch on the day. All ages welcome. No prior experience needed.

10.00am - 1.00pm WORKING BEE to prepare the Church for Palm Sunday and Holy Week.

Sunday 28th March - Palm Sunday

8.00am Eucharist; 10.00am Sung Eucharist with Procession of Palms. Celebrant and Preacher: Reverend Richard Murray, Interim Priest

The Three Great Days of Easter - 1st to 4th April

THURSDAY 1st April - MAUNDY THURSDAY
8.00pm Mass of the Lord's Supper including Washing of the Feet and Procession of the Sacrament. A Vigil of Prayer will follow the Service until 10.30pm and re-commence on Good Friday morning at 7.00am

FRIDAY 2nd APRIL - GOOD FRIDAY
7.00am - 9.00am Vigil of Prayer continues
9.00am. Liturgy of the Passion
10.30am Ecumenical Stations of the Cross, conducted in the streets of North Melbourne, and in which we join with the other Christian Churches in the North Melbourne Area

SATURDAY 3rd APRIL - HOLY SATURDAY
10.00am Morning Prayer, followed by Working Bee to prepare the Church for the Easter Vigil Service

SATURDAY EVENING 3rd APRIL - EASTER EVE
9.00pm Vigil and Lighting of the Paschal Candle, Proclamation of Easter and First Mass of Easter.

A Festive Supper will follow in the Parish Hall

SUNDAY 4th APRIL - EASTER SUNDAY
8.00am Eucharist 10.00am Sung Eucharist

Come and Visit St Mary's

Visitors are welcome at St Mary's, which is open for prayer and private reflection, or just quiet time, each day from 8am to 5pm.

The current church building was begun in 1858 and there are many beautiful features for visitors to enjoy.

There is an ongoing restoration project, and tax deductible contributions are always welcome. There are leaflets in the church porch or you may speak with the Vicar if you would like to know more about supporting this heritage building.

Church services at St Mary's are held on Sundays at 8am and 10am.
